Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate with residents, families, staff, visitors and colleagues
- Participating in company initiatives, policies and procedures
- Implement and follow individual clinical care plans, and monitor patient well-being
- Provide assistance to staff, completing staff handover, new patient assessment, medication administration and administrative tasks
- Adhere to and maintain health and safety policies, techniques, principles and procedures
- Maintain a safe work environment
The ideal candidate will ideally have:
- The ability to communicate in Tagalog would be an advantage
- New Zealand Registered Nurse holding current annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum two years of New Zealand Nursing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of the latest nursing practises
- Attitude - a desire to help and support others
- Experience in respite care

Purpose of the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a multidisciplinary mental health and addictions team based in Auckland, New Zealand . In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for tangata whaiora and their whānau , working collaboratively with health professionals and external agencies. Care provided is grounded in the Mental Health and Addictions scope of practice and aligned with Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with tangata whaiora and whānau.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk and mental state evaluations.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
- Deliver evidence-based clinical interventions such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and sensory modulation (as trained).

Document care planning and progress accurately and professionally.
- Act as a key point of contact and care coordinator for tangata whaiora and their support networks.
- Promote mental health awareness, wellness, and recovery both individually and within the community.
- Support preceptorship, student placements, and contribute to peer supervision.
- Uphold principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi , cultural safety, and health equity in all aspects of care.
Requirements

Registered Nurse with current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) under the Mental Health scope.

Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (Mental Health & Addictions), or working towards this.

At least 1 year of post-registration experience in a mental health setting.

Commitment to reflective practice, cultural competence, and continuous professional development.

Strong clinical documentation, care coordination, and communication skills.

We are seeking a permanent fulltime Lecturer/Student Nurse Educator to assist with the delivery of specific courses and subjects within our Bachelor of Health Sciences Māori Nursing (Te Ōhanga Mataora) programme and/or provide clinical simulation and able to demonstrate nursing skills in practicum placement settings.
To apply you must be a NZ Registered Nurse and hold a current NCNZ practicing certificate. You will have:
· A minimum of three years’ full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
· An acute clinical nursing background
· Clinical experience relevant to health sciences and the ability to support and mentor student nurses in practicum settings.
You may also have:
· Experience in the nursing/health sector as a nurse educator/teacher.
· A Masters’ qualification OR a Bachelor of Nursing qualification with a willingness to study toward post-graduate and Masters’ qualifications over time.
· A teaching qualification, preferable adult teaching, tertiary teaching experience (teaching papers at degree level) and/or a willingness to undertake study toward an adult teaching qualification.
If you have experience monitoring, assessing and delivery of nurse practicum/nurse practice courses, and/or science for nursing, and/or pathophysiology, and/or community health courses then we would encourage you to apply for a role with us.
Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and its application in both education and health settings and the ability to kōrero Te Reo Māori to at least intermediate level/or a willingness to improve your Te Reo Maori beyond basic.
