We are looking for Aluminium Fabricators to join our business, Extrastaff Limited. Our growing business requires organised and trustworthy individuals who pride themselves on quality workmanship. You must be motivated and result driven. You might be asked to work across the country to assist our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred.
The Aluminium Fabricator is responsible for:
* Study, understand and check job sheet drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
* Proceed to complete work as per job sheet drawings and in accordance with the schedule set by the Factory Manager
* Comply with company procedures and training for:
* Prepping (cleaning and preparing Aluminium stock for Fabrication)
* Cutting Aluminium (using hand tools and metal cutting machines)
* Assembly (aligning parts to be joined and joining metal using various techniques, bolting and riveting, with hand tools and measuring instruments)
* Fixing of hardware
* Cutting and fitting of liners
* Glazing
* Finishing products by cleaning, filing and polishing, ready for delivery
* Stores and raw materials
* Waste by-products
* Onsite installation of aluminium structures and cladding
* Check and maintain equipment and tools
* Setting up and maintaining a tidy and productive work area
* Attend usual workstation and check all necessary equipment is safe and functional
* Report any significant maintenance required or any safety issues
* Assist and co-operate with other staff members
* Assist with moving frames around factory
* Load and unload delivery vehicles, both inwards and outgoing
* Assist with deliveries to site and the moving of frames on site
* Carry out stock takes as required
* Keep the workplace clean, tidy and free from rubbish or other obstructions
* As required, carry out cleaning and maintenance work on the employers premises, machinery, vehicles and equipment
* Carry out such other duties as would normally be associated with the position of an Aluminum Joinery Fabricator
Skills and experience required:
* Preferably 2+ years experience in metal fabricating or relevant occupation. However, we accept any candidates who have minimal industrial experience and are willing to learn.

Responsibilities:-
Assisting carpenters, bricklayers, and other tradespeople with their tasks.

Preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Loading, unloading, and transporting materials, tools, and equipment.

Operating hand and power tools under supervision.

Mixing and pouring concrete and mortar.

Digging trenches and excavations.

Assisting with site clean-up and maintaining a tidy and organized work area.

Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to safety regulations at all times.

Performing general labouring duties as required.

At least two years of work experience in a labouring role, particularly in the construction industry.

No formal qualifications are required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Reliability and punctuality are crucial.

Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

Good physical fitness and stamina to handle manual tasks.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.

Basic understanding of construction site safety is preferred.

Holding a SiteSafe passport is advantageous.

Depending on site locations, a valid driver's licence and own transport may be beneficial.

Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.

Must be an NZ Citizen, NZ Resident, or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$25 and NZ$35 , depending on experience. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
