About us
Dental Aesthetics is a dental laboratory that has been operating for over 15 years in
Nelson. We provide dental prothesis to dentists predominantly across the Tasman and
Wellington region and are looking for a Exocad CAD/CAM Technician to assist the owners
with day-to-day management of the laboratory and practice software needs.
You will be responsible for the use and maintenance of the software and milling equipment.
You will also be designing and developing dental prosthesis with Exocad. You will also help
with training of other technicians and staff in the use of the software as well as support the
owner with various other practice development activities that may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Using the Exocad system to support the laboratory team design dental prosthetics
and develop dental models and prosthetics.
Support the team with the use of the Exocad system by providing training.
orking with the owner of Dental Aesthetics and liaise with the software provider and
/ or other IT providers, ensure the Exocad system is kept up to date and fit for
purpose for the laboratory.
upport the team ensure the Exocad system hardware is kept updated to date and
the system integrates appropriately with the dental milling machine.
upport the team ensure the data housed in the Exocad system is appropriately
maintained and saved.
onsider and recommend other IT systems and software that Dental Aesthetics
could implement and use to improve efficiency in the laboratory.
upport the owner and the laboratory team with various other practice development
activities that may be required.
eep accurate records of work done and materials used.
nsure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of
hazardous substances.
ommunicate with dentists and other dental professionals to discuss design plans
and issues as they relate to the software use and milling designs.

Essential skills
minimum of 3 years’ experience with Exocad CAD/CAM technology or similar CAD/CAM technology/system in a laboratory setting is essential.
Un standing of materials used in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
ork with a variety of specialized hand and power tools, as well as computer-aided
design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology.
