We are currently seeking a dedicated retail sales assistant for our busy store in Timaru, Canterbury. We are known for our commitment to quality and exceptional customer service, we offer a diverse range of products to meet the needs of our community. With a focus on delivering value and a memorable shopping experience, we take pride in being a trusted name locally and beyond.

Tasks include but are not limited to: -

  • Greeting all customers in a friendly and appropriate manner
  • Assisting customers about products queries
  • Maintaining an effective knowledge of general product and product history
  • Labelling goods and ensuring the correct price is displayed
  • Stocking products on the shelf, storage and merchandising
  • Completing all daily store operations
  • Processing and handling cash with accuracy and diligence
  • Ensure the store sales and inventories all correctly accounted
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the store.
  • Perform any other job responsibility as requested by the store manager 

Person Specification:

  • Must have level 7 qualification 
  • Must have 1year relevant work experience 
  • Must be able to work on weekends and public holiday 
  • Must be able to work extra hours if required 
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback for team members
  • Passionate about providing Great Service

Location: Canterbury  

Number of Position: 1

Duration: Permanent fulltime – 32 hours per week 

Wage Rate: $24 - $24 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

·    Operate manual equipment including lathes, milling machines, and a machining centre.

·    Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.

·    Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications accurately.

·    Assemble mechanical systems and perform functional testing.

·    Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.

·    Conduct routine maintenance to keep machinery in optimal condition.

Full time permanent Welder/ Fabricator is required. The minimum work will be 40 hours per week. Hours of work are to be flexible to meet the operational needs of the Employer. Candidates should pass a background check and must be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident is preferable, please mention if you are a NZ Citizen or Resident.

Responsibilities

  1.       Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and Procedures
  2.         Experience in TIG/MiG/Arc welding
  3.         Strong ability to read plans/drawings
  4.         Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  5.         Must follow all safety policies and wear PPE
  6.         Must be able to read and interpret welding symbols, plans, blueprints and sketches,
  7.         Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  8.         Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  9.         Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  10.         Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  11.         Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  12.         Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  13.         Must be able to position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits by following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding equipment and hand tools to ensure it meets measurements and specifications outlined in drawings
  14.         Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  15.         Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
  16.         Assembling, installing and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications.
  17.         Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI and ASME codes and standard.
  18.         Candidate should be able to Fabricate and Install as per instructions.
  19.         Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
  20.         Experience in using electrical or manual tools.

  Skills Requires:

2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge of relative New Zealand safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing

(face-shield, gloves etc.)
